Woven on traditional power looms in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo, this indigo tartan is a fine example of Banshu-ori, a textile renowned for its quality and depth.
Based on a rich indigo blue palette, the fabric features indigo-dyed yarns that create a classic, layered tartan—an original design by Dopple & Scent.
Designed with generous room through the sleeves, the silhouette offers a relaxed, effortless feel. Beautiful on its own, it also layers naturally under jackets, coats, or knitwear. The neckline can be styled in different ways depending on how many buttons are fastened, allowing subtle changes in expression, while casually rolled sleeves add an easy, well-balanced look.
With continued wear, the fabric softens and molds comfortably to the body. Over time, the indigo gently fades, developing rich nuance and character—gradually becoming a piece that feels uniquely your own.
