【private】having fun as a family

Today, I’d like to share a little something from my personal life.
Do any of you who read this blog have children? I have two.

When they were younger, balancing work and parenting was incredibly tough—every day felt like a race. But lately, they’ve grown a bit more independent, and things have become just a little easier.

That said, now it’s hard to match up everyone’s schedules, so planning a family trip isn’t as simple as it used to be. Still, our family style is: if we’ve got time, we’re heading out! Staying home just isn’t our thing.

On this particular day, the weather was absolutely beautiful, and someone suggested, “Let’s go eat nagashi somen!”
(Nagashi somen is a fun summer tradition in Japan where thin noodles flow down a bamboo flume with running water, and you catch them with chopsticks—it's both refreshing and playful!)

But… the place we wanted to go was fully booked. So we had to change our plans last-minute—and ended up eating a huge katsudon instead!

"Here’s a photo of nagashi somen—this was taken back when my kids were still little."

This katsudon was unbelievably big! Thick, crispy pork cutlet fried to golden perfection, topped with sweet and savory broth and fluffy egg—all served over a steaming bowl of rice. Even my usually small-eating kids finished theirs in no time!

Our family just loves going out and making the most of our time together. We want to keep creating lots of happy memories.

Oh, and one more thing—the dress code for the day was “green”! 🌿
We love picking a theme color for the day and matching our outfits—it adds a little extra fun to our outings.
