Even on days when our boutique miel is closed, my schedule as a mother of two is packed. From cleaning the house and doing laundry to shopping for a week's worth of groceries and managing school tasks for the kids, it feels like there's never enough time to fit everything into one weekend.
My son plays tennis, and springtime means weekend after weekend of matches. We wake up early to prepare bento lunch boxes and head out to the match venues to cheer him on. Often, the venues are far away, and sometimes we barely make it in time for his matches—but I do my best to be there.
Recently, he advanced through the tournament, and we were so proud! To celebrate, we had a small party with some of our family friends that evening—a “You Did Great at Tennis!” dinner party. We went with a Korean food theme that night.
We grilled pork belly samgyeopsal-style with garlic and kimchi, filling the air with delicious aromas. Garlic is known for its energy-boosting properties, perfect after a long, active day. We also enjoyed a hearty bowl of Shin Ramen, a spicy Korean noodle soup that warmed us up and satisfied our appetites.
Japan is home to beautiful fashion—and we love sharing that through our shop—but it’s also full of amazing food. It’s these little everyday moments, from cheering at a tennis match to sharing a hot meal with friends, that fill our days with joy.
